congratulations to the summer school class of 2018

This year’s Summer School is another exciting step towards the realisation of the Alhambra Theatre Trust’s ambitious plans for the former Watt & Dewar building on the New Row. With an energetic new team in place, the Summer School aimed to provide a taster of the kind of teaching that will be offered at The Ironmongers Studio.

The new performance space at the Ironmongers Studio, opposite the Alhambra, will utilise the original fabric of the building, and will retain the historical significance of a building that has played an important role in Dunfermline life for over a Century, including being the site of the original Carnegie Music Institute up until 1933.

The Alhambra Theatre Trust’s aim is to create a versatile, striking and unique venue & theatre space in the heart of the town. The Ironmongers Studio development will also provide much needed opportunities for local groups to produce and perform a wide variety of works under the newly formed and soon to be launched Dunfermline Performing Arts organisation.

Further details of the courses on offer will be released soon. Act, Sing and Dance Schools will continue to run independently and under separate management. The Alhambra Theatre Trust wish ASDS all the best for the future.

There will be a chance for the public to see the Alhambra Theatre Trust’s ambitious plans, and see inside the stripped out building, during the Alhambra Theatre’s open day, part of the Outwith Festival, on Sunday 9th September.
