Moscow Ballet - La Classique - NUTCRACKER

The greatest success of Russian theatre is undoubtedly classical ballet, an area in which Russian dancers (aided by some of the world's greatest choreographers) have reigned supreme since the 1820's.

Moscow Ballet - La Classique, founded in 1990 utilising ballet dancers from the leading theatres of the CIS Countries and the Bolshoi, Kirov and Ballet Theatres of Kiev and Odessa, carries on this tradition.

Over the past 15 years, Moscow Ballet - La Classique has recently thrilled ballet lovers throughout the world during hugely successful tours of Egypt, Morocco, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Norway, Israel, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand as well as the UK, and Russia itself. This talented company have deservedly gained vast international acclaim.

World-renowned soloists Nadejda Ivanova, Ekaterina Shalyapina, Dmitry Smirnov, and Andrey Shalin lead this fabulous Moscow Ballet Production under the direction of Elik Melikov.

If ever Tchaikovsky wrote a fateful work it was this one.

NUTCRACKER is a classical ballet in two acts, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa & Lev Ivanov for the Paris Opéra to a libretto by Marius Petipa, and set to music by Tchaikovsky. It is regarded as one of the jewels of classical ballet and represents one of the true timeless tales of childhood dreams where toys come to life, mice are the villains, and all things are possible in a magical kingdom beyond imagination.

NUTCRACKER constantly features in the repertoire of the world's leading ballet companies...and wears its age with pride and a smile.

A hugely enjoyable dance-spectacular, perfect for ballet lovers of all ages.

Is the dream for real...or is it just a fairy tale? This delightful production of the much-loved NUTCRACKER captures the imagination with the passion, humour and magic of the ballet.

The perfect Christmas treat for one and all.
